Julie Keisman Miller has a B.A. from Columbia University and a M. Ed. from Marymount University. She lives in Reston, Virginia with her husband, two children, two basset hounds, and one aged cat. She has had several careers, but the common denominator has always been writers and writing.
She worked in Manhattan for 15 years at Oxford University Press. Then, she created her own consulting firm, providing promotional support to publishers and authors, including her mother, Robin Hathaway, an award-winning mystery novelist. After several years of consulting, Julie realized that she wanted to be more directly involved in education.
After receiving her Masters degree, Julie started teaching English language arts to middle and high school students in Fairfax, Virginia. One of the first projects Julie introduced to her students was a yearly novel writing project similar to Project Publish. She has been inspiring students ever since, encouraging them to push aside self doubt to share their own, unique stories with readers.
